Editorial policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026 Responsible editor: Alex Mercer (author page)
1. Who writes our content
Alex Mercer is a pen name used by the Voxota editorial team. Content is produced and reviewed by the Voxota editorial process, which includes source verification and multi-step quality checks.
2. What we publish
We publish practical, beginner-friendly guides about AI tools, software, automation, and AI-assisted ways to work and earn online. Each article targets one clear question and says who it's for.
3. How articles are researched
- Facts about products (features, plans, prices and limits) are checked against the vendor's own documentation or pricing pages wherever possible.
- Platform rules, such as YouTube's or an ad platform's policies, are checked against the platform's official policy or help pages.
- Legal or regulatory points are checked against official sources, such as regulators and bar associations. Those articles are general information, not advice.
- Reputable publications may be used for context, but never as the only support for an important claim.
- Every article ends with a "Sources and methodology" section that lists what was checked and when.
- If a claim can't be verified from an official source, we remove it or rewrite it in cautious, general terms.
4. Testing and methodology
We only say we "tested" something when we did, and when the article documents how. Comparison articles state their method in a "Methodology: what we checked" section and their limits in a "Limitations" section. Many of our comparisons are desk research (documentation, pricing pages and policies), and we say so.
5. Use of AI assistance
We use AI tools to help with research organization, outlining, and drafting. Every article is fact-checked against sources and reviewed through our multi-step quality process before publication. AI is not used to invent experiences, test results, quotes, statistics, or reviews.
6. Quality checks before publication
Before an article is published, it is checked for: - unsupported, risky, or unclear claims - source verification - readability - headings and metadata - internal links - duplicate or overlapping content - valid structured data
An article that fails is revised and re-checked, or it isn't published.
7. Independence and conflicts of interest
- Coverage decisions are based on usefulness to readers, not on commercial relationships.
- If the editorial team has a financial or personal relationship with a company covered in an article, the article will disclose it.
- We don't accept payment to publish favourable coverage.
8. Affiliate links and advertising
Voxota currently uses no affiliate links and shows no ads. If that changes, we will update our affiliate disclosure first. Commercial relationships will not change our recommendations.
9. Keeping fast-changing content up to date
AI tool prices, plans, and platform policies change often. Every article shows a "last reviewed" date. We re-check pricing and policy articles regularly, and sooner when a vendor announces changes. When we update facts, we change the "last reviewed" date and, for material changes, note what changed.
10. Corrections
If you find an error, email corrections@voxota.com. See our corrections policy.
